Online Media Detikcom is a site that provides information through the internet that can be accessed anywhere and anytime. As one of the online media that many devotees, Detikcom always put forward the actuality of news which is the main advantage offered by online media than other media. Behind the side of the actuality favored by Detikcom, the value in the news value also become an important reference of the credibility of a media. Values on the news must be balanced and complete in a medium, especially online media such as Detikcom which is widely accessed by readers every time. This study uses the theory of Uses and Gratification which discusses what consumers do in the media as satisfying their needs. The purpose of this study is to find out a general description of student perceptions and find out the reasons for students in using Detikcom's online news portal. There are 37 respondents are students majoring in journals campus USNI A and USNI B force 2013 to 2016 with data collection techniques using questionnaires and analysis used is the test of validity and reliability. Based on the results of research, it is known that Detikcom is an online media sites that pay attention to Values on its news content. Detikcom news values can be said complete with the calculation of 76.27%.
