The rapid development of digital media has brought about major changes in the way information is conveyed and perceived by the public, especially when social media figures become the center of attention in mainstream media coverage. This study aims to determine how the media frames news about the controversy involving Willie Salim, a content creator who was in the spotlight after the incident of the disappearance of 200 kilograms of rendang during a social activity in Palembang. The research focused on three major online media outlets: Kompas.com, Liputan6.com, and Tribunnews.com. This study employed a qualitative approach with a critical paradigm and media text analysis methods. It utilized Robert N. Entman's framing model, which encompasses four dimensions: problem definition, cause identification, moral judgment, and resolution recommendations. Data were analyzed descriptively based on news articles published in March 2025. The results of the study show differences in framing styles between media: Kompas.com tends to convey information in a neutral and factual manner, Liputan6.com emphasizes the emotional side through the responses of public figures, while Tribunnews.com presents a more sensational and speculative narrative. This difference demonstrates that the media does more than simply convey information, but also plays an active role in shaping how society views events. Thus, this research emphasizes the importance of critical awareness in understanding media content, especially amidst the increasingly complex dynamics of digital journalism.
